🌱 Origin & Growth
Cashew nuts come from the cashew tree, which is native to Brazil but widely grown in India, Vietnam, and Africa. Interestingly, the cashew nut is the seed found at the bottom of the cashew apple, a fruit that also grows on the tree.
The nut is enclosed in a hard shell that contains a toxic oil (called anacardic acid), so cashews are always sold shelled and processed.
